Nutritional Supplement-Drug Benefit Database
eMedFx connects its subscribers to scientific research on supplements or herbs known to decrease drug side effects or improve the intended action of a drug. The references for this literature will be printed on each eMedFx report.
- Example:
Lipitor which is a Statin medication, is known to interfere with ATP synthesis by reducing the production of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), which is a key enzyme in ATP synthesis (1). Supplementation with CoQ10 may therefore be recommended for patients taking Lipitor* to help restore the enzyme depletion by this drug.
*If not otherwise contraindicated.
